Meta Ads
Adako is an MCP server and REST API that connects Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other assistants to Google Ads, Meta Ads, ChatGPT Ads and LinkedIn Ads. This page covers Meta Ads: 44 tools, objective-aware metrics, and launches that start paused.
Connecting
Meta Ads connects with an access token from your own Meta app: a system user in your business portfolio, given the ad accounts and Pages, generates it, and you paste it on Accounts. Connect Meta with your own token walks through every step.
Adako checks the token with Meta before storing it, then lists every ad account it reaches. Ad account IDs keep their act_ prefix.
Budgets are decimals in the account currency. Adako converts to minor units for the API and knows which currencies have none — a yen budget of 1200 is 1200, not 120000.
What it reads
- Campaigns with objective, effective status, daily or lifetime budget and bid strategy.
- Ad sets with optimization goal, billing event, targeting summary, schedule and learning stage.
- Ads with status, creative and preview link.
- Insights at campaign, ad set and ad level, with breakdowns by age and gender or placement.
- Wasted spend: ad sets and ads with spend and no results, learning phase respected.
- Creative fatigue: falling click-through beside rising frequency and CPM, per ad, over a window.
- Audience, placement and budget analysis: which segments beat the account average, which placements cost far more per result, and how the budget would be reallocated.
- A period-over-period change attributed to the ad sets, placements, countries or age and gender groups that caused it.
- Pages, Instagram identities, pixels, custom and saved audiences, promotable apps, and the targeting catalogue, so a launch never guesses an ID.
- Lead forms and their submissions, with the ad and campaign that produced each lead.
- The creative behind an ad, and the reach an ad set’s targeting can deliver.
ROAS is not always the answer
What it writes
- Create an image, video, carousel or app-install campaign: campaign, ad set, upload, creative and ad. The campaign is paused and the ad set and ad are active inside it, so turning the campaign on launches it.
- Create a flexible ad that carries several texts, headlines and images for Meta to assemble.
- Add an ad set to an existing campaign, or an ad to an existing ad set. Both paused.
- Duplicate a campaign, always paused and always renamed.
- Update a budget at campaign level (CBO) or ad set level, daily or lifetime.
- Update an ad set’s targeting, optimisation goal or schedule. Targeting merges rather than replaces, and the diff says what is added and removed.
- Update an ad’s name, status, creative or tracking parameters.
- Set a frequency cap on a reach-optimised ad set.
- Pause and resume a campaign, ad set or ad.
Meta has no delete tools at all. Pausing is the only way to stop delivery, and it keeps the history.
Where a launch stops early
These are refusals with an explanation, not errors you have to decode:
- No promotable page on the account.
- Two or more pages and no page chosen — Adako asks which one.
- A conversion objective with no pixel.
- An EU audience without the required beneficiary and payer fields.
- A creative link that is not a public image or video file. An image has to be a JPEG, PNG or GIF under 30 MB, and a video has to be a video file under 4 GB. An image under 600 px on the short edge gets a warning on the preview.
- A daily budget under Meta’s minimum for the account currency, read from Meta rather than converted from dollars.
- An ad account with no payment method. Meta accepts the campaign, ad set, image and creative on an unfunded account and refuses only the ad, so the check happens first and nothing is created.
- A second ad in an ad set flagged as dynamic creative, which Meta allows only one ad in.
- Anything Meta’s own validation rejects: the campaign is sent to Meta in validate-only mode during the preview, so an account-level rule — a bidding strategy the account does not allow, a special ad category it cannot run — refuses before you are asked to approve anything. Its ad set and ad cannot be checked that way until the campaign exists, so those rules are checked against Adako’s own copy of them.
A prompt that works
Compare the last 14 days to the 14 before for every ad set.
Flag anything past learning with a rising cost per result, and propose a budget change for the best one.Not covered
Catalog and dynamic product ads, Advantage+ shopping campaigns, and creating audiences. Existing custom, lookalike and saved audiences can be read and targeted.
