Google Ads
Search campaigns end to end: research, structure, performance, waste, and writes that always start paused.
Connecting
Open Connections and choose Google Ads. Sign in with the Google account that can reach the Ads account, then pick which customer Adako works on. Manager accounts appear in the list but cannot be made active — pick the account that holds the campaigns.
Account IDs are strings without dashes. Money is a decimal in the account currency: 15 means fifteen units a day, never micros.
What it reads
- Campaigns with budget, bidding strategy and status.
- Campaign, ad group and keyword performance with a previous-period delta.
- Campaign structure: ad groups, keywords with match type and quality score, responsive search ads.
- Search terms for a period, classified as converting, wasted or new, with suggested negatives.
- Wasted spend: keywords and campaigns above a spend floor with no conversions, learning phase excluded.
- Targeting: locations, languages, ad schedule, devices, audiences.
- Conversion actions with status, category and counting.
- Keyword ideas with volume, competition and top-of-page bid range.
What it writes
Every write is a proposal first. After approval it executes once and reads the object back.
- Create a Search campaign: budget, campaign, geo and language criteria, ad groups, keywords, one responsive search ad per ad group, optional campaign negatives.
- Update a campaign budget, name, status, end date or network settings.
- Pause and resume campaigns and ad groups.
- Add keywords and campaign-level negative keywords; update a keyword status or CPC bid.
- Remove negative keywords — the only removal, and it needs an explicit confirmation.
Search Partners is off by default
New campaigns are created with the Search Network only. If you want partners, ask for them and the proposal will say so.
How a campaign gets created
The order is fixed, and each step is a separate call so nothing is guessed:
- Research keywords, if you asked for ideas.
- Resolve locations — free text never reaches a write call; “Paris” becomes a geo target ID or a list of candidates.
- Validate the ad copy against the platform limits: 15 headlines at 30 characters, 4 descriptions at 90.
- Create everything in one atomic mutate, paused.
- Read back the campaign, ad groups, keywords and ads that now exist.
A prompt that works
example
Review the last 30 days. List campaigns with spend over 500 and no conversions,
then propose pausing the worst one and adding negatives for the wasted search terms.Limits worth knowing
- Keyword research needs Basic access on the developer token. Without it the tool says so instead of guessing.
- Shared budgets are detected and explained rather than silently changed.
- Performance Max, Shopping, App and Display campaigns are read-only context in v1 — Adako does not create them.
- There are no delete tools. Pause is pause; it never routes to a removal.
